Delta Industrial Robots Reach the 10,000 Unit Mark!
Delta Industrial Robots Reach the 10,000 Unit Mark!
Fast implementation and tight integration create competitive advantages and expand business opportunities in smart manufacturing.
Mauro Shirasuna

Considered as one of the main pillars of Industry 4.0, Industrial Robots have played an important role in the implementation of intelligent and flexible manufacturing, through the execution of repetitive and high-precision applications that were previously done manually, whether in Global Companies, with industrial plants distributed in all continents, as well as in small and medium companies that, more recently, have been benefiting from this technology. Within this scenario, Delta proudly announces that it has reached an important milestone: the sale of 10,000 units of its Industrial Robots!

Delta formed its Industrial Robots development team in 2012 and, based on its vast experience in the manufacture and production of a vast range of industrial automation (CLP, HMI, Frequency inverters, Servo Drive, etc.), defined the 4-axis industrial robot as its initial focus for market entry. The initial models were intensively tested in test fields and on their own production lines. Finally, in 2015, Delta launches its first SCARA Robot for applications aimed at the automotive components, communications, computing, consumer products and electronics industries.

Over time, Delta has accumulated technologies and experience and entered the 6-Axis Industrial Robots market segment. By expanding its product portfolio, Delta has enhanced the Industrial Robots' ability to integrate with the latest innovations in industrial automation, thanks in large part to its extensive knowledge of the electronics industry in the development of new components.

Delta's sales performance began to show strong momentum in 2018, with average annual sales increasing by around 70% from the previous year. Additionally, Delta was ranked as the best-selling Industrial Robot brand by China's leading industrial market research agencies such as “MIR” and “Gaogong Robotic Network”. It even surpassed many European and Japanese companies in the SCARA Industrial Robot lists.

By early 2021, Delta's Industrial Robots team had grown nearly threefold. With a sense of identity and spirit to solve customer problems, the team achieved several milestones. In addition to the 10,000 units sold mark, Delta has successfully conquered several machinery industry customers with its solutions such as CVT (Conveyor Tracking) and “On the Fly”:

  • The CVT solution allows synchronization of robot movement with a conveyor belt. For example, if there are parts placed on a moving conveyor, the robot will synchronize with the conveyor and move at the same speed to manipulate the part.
  • The “On the Fly” solution is a resource used together with inspection cameras. With this feature, it is not necessary to “stop” the movement of a part in front of the camera to inspect it. The entire inspection process is done in motion and the camera determines to the robot whether the part has passed the inspection test or not.

Looking ahead, the wave of transformation brought about by smart manufacturing is expected to increase application demands for Industrial Robots. The outlook for the general market is optimistic. According to the forecast of the ITRI (Taiwan Institute of Industrial Technological Research), the estimated growth from 2021 to 2026 is 7.8%. To keep pace with this expanding trend, Delta will continue to improve its products and broaden its range of applications and help its customers quickly and easily adopt industrial robots and accelerate the timetable for machine and information integration. Delta also intends to offer solutions to connect industrial automation systems through cloud services, enabling one of the pillars of Industrial 4.0.

Count on Delta to achieve your vision of the future of smart manufacturing!
