How to do a quick test using JOG mode on ASD-A2 and B2?

Introduction

After installing the servomotor cable, the encoder cable and having supplied the power and driver control (A2 or B2), it is recommended to activate the JOG mode that allows manual movement with reduced speed to check the axis movement and the trajectory of the mechanical apparatus attached to it. This test can be done directly on the driver's display without the need to connect the digital inputs

Test in JOG mode

1 - On the driver display, separate the [MODE] button to access the parameters.

note: Use the [SHIFT] key to change the group to 2 and the keys to change the parameter. Use the [SET] key to change the parameter values.

2 - Access the parameter P2-30 and put the value equal to 1 (Servo ON). This will make the servomotor energized. You will notice that the servomotor will make a small noise and the shaft will become rigid. To disable, return to the value 0 (Servo OFF).

3 - Now enter the parameter P4-05 and adjust the speed of the JOG. By default, the JOG comes with the value 20. After pressing the set key, the word [- JOG -] will appear on the display. Now use the keys to move the axis of the servomotor clockwise and counterclockwise.

4 - Perform the movements to check if there will be any collision and if the servomotor is responding to commands.

Grades:

  • If the servomotor does not turn, check the power cable's UVW connections.
  • If the servomotor runs abnormally, check that the UVW cables are in the correct connection sequence.
  • If the AL011 alarm appears, check that the servomotor is compatible with the driver model and the encoder connector and cable.
  • If you have already checked the items above and the servomotor continues to behave abnormally (vibration, noise, triggering ...), perform auto tuning offline.
